DAIR team member Stephanie Zito wins Principal's Prize for Public Engagement


McGill's Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Suzanne Fortier, recently announced the 2022 Principal's Prize winners. The DAIR team is proud to share that Stephanie Zito, a DAIR team member and PhD candidate in Counselling Psychology, was announced as this year's winner of the Principal’s Prize for Public Engagement through Media for her @selfcarespotlight digital mental health initiative. Self-Care Spotlight is an Instagram-based community that has amassed over 400,000 followers since its creation at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Through this platform, Stephanie has used her digital and creative expertise to share an array of evidence-based strategies and psycho-education related to mental health and healthy coping. Congratulations, Stephanie!


Principal Suzanne Fortier created the Principal’s Prize for Public Engagement through Media to recognize outstanding achievement among those who share their knowledge with the public and the media. They play a vital role in supporting McGill University’s commitment to being of service to society and engaging with the broader community.
